About Hello Homesteading

Hello Homesteading was created from a personal interest in homesteading and a desire for greater self-reliance. We believe growing your own food, composting household scraps and raising backyard chickens should feel possible—even if you are just beginning or do not have acres of land.

We're a small business out of Florida dedicated to helping you make your homestead or backyard an oasis of self-sufficiency and sustainability. As gardeners and composters ourselves, we understand that practical equipment can make a meaningful difference. We created Hello Homesteading to make dependable products easier to find and to help customers make informed purchasing decisions with confidence.

Our goal is to help people create a more productive and self-sufficient lifestyle in the space they already have so they have the ability to Grow, Raise & Live Well.

Stories from Homesteaders

I have a small backyard, but I’m amazed by how much food I can grow in my greenhouse out there. Homesteading has shown me that you don’t need a lot of land to become more self-sufficient. Even gathering a few fresh tomatoes or herbs for dinner feels like a big accomplishment.

When I first started homesteading, I honestly had no idea what I was doing. I learned through trial and error, starting with a few vegetables and adding new projects as my confidence grew. Seeing how far I’ve come the last 2 years makes every fruit or veggie I pick feel even more rewarding. And I just got a small chicken coop and 3 chickens so I can't wait for the fresh eggs!

Since retiring, my spouse and I have found so much joy in working on our little homestead together. Growing our own food keeps us active, gives our days a sense of purpose, and lets us enjoy more time outdoors. And we love sharing what we harvest with our family and neighbors.

What I love most about homesteading is learning practical skills that I can share with my children. From growing vegetables to composting kitchen scraps, we're always learning something new. It feels good to work together and build a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle. I love setting that example for my kiddos.
